Insurgency

Insurgency is a tactical shooter focused mainly on multiplayer mode. It is a commercial continuation of the popular modification with the same title dedicated to Half-Life 2. The game was produced by New World Interactive studio, which includes the core of the team responsible for the original modification.

The action takes place in modern times, in one of the countries of the Middle East. The game tells the story of clashes between Western troops and local Muslim rebels. Insurgency is a tactical shooter, so the emphasis is on the high realism of the game. One accurate hit is often enough to kill the opponent, and victory is almost impossible without good cooperation with teammates. The title rewards calm and prudent execution of tasks and implementation of clever tactical plans. Joyful running through the levels quickly ends with the death of the character. Up to 32 players can play on one map at a time.

When starting the game we choose between three classes determining speed and armour strength - light (Skirmisher), medium (Grunt) and heavy (Tank). In addition, each class can choose its own armament and equipment. An additional attraction is an extensive weapon improvement system. All this means that we can perfectly match the character to our own style of play and the role that we play in the team.

Insurgency offers four game modes. In Occupy each team starts with its own control point, and in the middle of the map there is a third one, for which most of the fights take place. Firefight, on the other hand, relies on fast battles to gain control over five points. The game ends when one team scores all or after five minutes (in which case the victory is determined by the score). In Elimination, both teams try to take over a special item and take it to their evacuation zone. Victory can also be achieved by eliminating all members of a competitive team. The last mode is the co-operative Hunt, in which players hunt terrorist troops.
