A simulator which allows us to construct our own planes, boats and cars, and then control them in the open world. KitHack Model Club places emphasis on recreating laws of physics. The game can be played alone or online, including sharing our projects with the community.

KitHack Model Club is a simulation game that extends the ideas from the Balsa Model Flight Simulator project. The game was developed by a small, independent team called Floating Origin Studios, founded by Felipe "HarvesteR" Falanghe - the author of the Kerbal Space Program.

Mechanics

KitHack Model Club allows us to construct our own models of vehicles and machines. It's up to us whether we will design standard airplanes, boats, and cars, or let our imagination run wild and try to create elaborate hybrids. A wide range of components was made available to us, including wings, wheels, engines, and even guns shooting paintballs. The game also allows us to freely paint them, giving them the appearance we desire.

When designing our machines, we should bear in mind that the laws of physics are present, and that their geometry affects parameters such as aerodynamics, hydrodynamics and friction generated by the wheels. Attention to detail certainly pays off here, as every change we make affects the behavior of our machine in motion.

We can test our projects in the open world. While traversing the picturesque Wirraway Bay, we can both undertake various challenges and devote time to free exploration.

Game modes

Even though KitHack Model Club allows for single-player fun, the game was mostly prepared with online multiplayer gameplay in mind for up to 16 people. In addition to the vehicle and machine editor, the game also includes a scenario editor, which allows us to create our own missions and share them with the community (just like our own models). The game is also open to modding. Those interested in mods can create new parts, maps, and also add features not foreseen by the developers.
