The culture of the Celts and other peoples who inhabited Europe north of the Alps during the Iron Age is rarely a major source of inspiration for video game developers. One production that fills this niche is Kromlech, an action adventure game with RPG elements, the work of independent Czech studio Perun Interactive, which has a portfolio of games such as Hobo: Tough Life and Kvark.
In Kromlech, we view the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). While traversing the open world, we complete the tasks set before us, get to know its inhabitants and discover its secrets, as well as fight against enemies.
Both hostile humans and beasts roaming the land stand in our way. The combat system favors dexterity and reflexes, and how the duels look like depends on the weapon we are wielding. We can use both precise slashes and rely on strength and range of attacks.
As we progress, we develop our character and adapt it to our individual style of play. Her combat potential can be increased by drawing words of power on items of equipment, drinking mystic drinks, making offerings to gods, receiving epithets (heroic names provided to us by performing heroic deeds), and developing various combat skills. In addition, the game allows you to cover the protagonist's body with war colors.
Kromlech takes us to a fantastic land inspired by Iron Age Europe, whose end is imminent. The main character of the game is an adventurer named Cronach. Helping the inhabitants of this world, the adventurer tries to find a way to stop the impending doom. As time passes inexorably and evil grows more and more powerful with each passing day, the man must make difficult decisions about who to help and who to leave for dead.
