Laika: Aged Through Blood Release Date PC
Laika: Aged Through Blood is a metroidvania type action platform game with motorcycle arcade game elements. It was developed by independent team Brainwash Gang and published by Thunderful Publishing.
Laika: Aged Through Blood takes us on a journey to a western-inspired, post-apocalyptic world of anthropomorphic animals. When the lands inhabited by the protagonist are invaded by ruthless aggressors, the warrior coyote has no choice but to face the occupants. With time we get to know the protagonist better, learning more about her and the story of relationship with her daughter.
Laika: Aged Through Blood is a side-scrolling game. This game stands out from the classics of the genre due to the fact that we don't travel through the vast levels on foot, but on a motorcycle. This forced the developers to fill the stages with various jumps and other terrain obstacles, the overcoming of which requires appropriate speed. Other interesting solutions are also present in the game, such as the fact that reloading weapons is done here by... performing backflips.
Apart from that, however, we are dealing with a fairly standard metroidvania, in which various levels are connected with each other and form a kind of labyrinth. There are various tasks to complete, and the exploration is made more interesting thanks to dynamic encounters with enemies. On our way there are both regular enemies and powerful bosses. During fights we have to be constantly on the move, avoid enemy attacks and make quick counterattacks. With time we gain new skills, which allows us to face more and more challenges.
Graphics of Laika: Aged Through Blood were made in cel-shading technique. The whole game is in a comic book style, and the postapocalyptic atmosphere is created by both the gloomy colors (dominated by shades of gray, brown and red) and the soundtrack.
