Last Report is a narrative first-person perspective horror game, developed by the independent studio Monopixel Games. The action is set in the Green Trees National Park, where we take on the role of a night guard returning to work after a long break. Our task is to analyze field reports and respond to strange signals from cameras.

Gameplay

The gameplay in Last Report takes place entirely from the guard's desk. We have access to a computer, reports, folders, and surveillance cameras. Our job is to analyze data and photos, verify the consistency of information (date, sector, image content), and respond to alerts from other stations.

During work, we conduct radio conversations with other guards, which gradually reveal that something bad is happening in the park. Subsequent messages become increasingly inconsistent, and some reports appear as if they come from beyond reality. We must determine which information is true and which is part of something much darker.

The main cons of the game

  • Short Length: Most reviews highlighted the game's brevity, with many players completing it in under two hours, leading to a feeling of it being more of a demo than a full-fledged game.
  • Lack of Meaningful Choices: Players expressed disappointment that the choices made during the game do not significantly impact the outcome, with multiple endings feeling similar or inconsequential.

Summary

  • Overall, while "Last Report" offers a captivating atmosphere and unique concept, it falls short in gameplay depth and narrative coherence, leaving players hoping for future updates or expansions to enhance the experience.
