Like mod, Legion TD 2 is a real-time strategy with unusual gameplay mechanisms. The game focuses on multiplayer mode, in which we fight against other players, but this rivalry takes place using mechanisms modelled on the tower defense genre.
While playing, we do not build watchtowers, but units. After they are trained and released on the map, we lose control over them and from that moment they are directed by artificial intelligence. Two four-person teams take part in the game. Each of them has one king who must be protected against attacks. His death means losing. Everything has been designed to last about 25 minutes.
For our successes, including killing approaching enemies, we are rewarded with the currency for which we buy more units and improve our existing ones. Lack of direct control over the army makes it essential to select the right warriors in terms of their abilities and to place them in the right formation when they are released on the map.
The players have at their disposal several so-called Legions, which play the role of factions in this game. All warriors who come from them serve only to defend our king. However, in order to attack enemy territories, we use mercenaries, also controlled by SI. Thus, players must balance the spending of resources between training a defensive army and investing in attacking forces.
