Mechanics

Livelock for PC, XONE and PS4 focuses mainly on fast-paced, dynamic shooting sequences played from the classic top-down view. The game offers three different characters to choose from; each has a rich weaponry, many useful gadgets and tactical abilities. Although the game resembles classics of the genre in terms of the mechanics – the player traverses subsequent levels and eliminates entire hordes of enemies – the creators offer a large diversity of both the adversaries and locations. Thus the player visits both extensive, open-space areas and half-darkened interiors, fighting differently sized robots and powerful rovers. Each of the latter has its strong and weak spots – identifying those and applying adequate tactics is crucial for victory.

Game modes

The game was designed specifically for online, co-op experience for up to three players – each controlling one of the three characters available. The game offers both the classic story mode and the so-called Open Protocol Mode. The latter is based on a concept of procedurally generated levels.

Technical aspects

Despite its typical mechanics based on classic concepts, Livelock for PC, XONE and PS4 impresses with modern-day, full-3D visuals complemented by many explosions and spectacular, graphical effects.
