A two-dimensional puzzle game inspired by to classic title of the genre and one of the first games of this type to be released – the good old Tetris. It is a remastered version of 2005 Lumine, which was available only on PlayStation Portable handheld console. The game thoughtfully builds on classic ideas and adds some new features.
Lumines Remastered is a two-dimensional puzzle game and a relative to Tetris that twists the idea of the original. As the title suggests, it is the remastered version of PlayStation Portable’s Lumines, which was released in 2005. Both versions were developed by Japanese studio Resonair and Enhance Games company.
The rules of Lumines Remastered are extremely simple. Players must form one-colored blocks from bricks that appear from the left side of the screen. Connecting two bricks of the same color, both disappear and that moves other bricks, which can lead to a chain reaction. Each destroyed generates points. Unlike in the original Tetris, Resonair’s game places emphasis on a music, with its rhythm dictates the tempo in which new elements appear. A quick-paced song can force quick reactions, while slower tracks allow more strategic approach – slowly building a structure only to remove it in one go the moment a correct figure comes. The game features tens of various tracks and online ranking with an option of unlocking avatars and skins as we progress through the game.
Lumines Remastered offers modes for one or two players, the latter in the form of split-screen.
Lumines Remastered uses very simple two-dimensional visuals. Console version also support vibrations, which can signal falling bricks or just emphasize a music.

Game Ratings for Lumines Remastered Video Game.
TheSixthAxis: 8 / 10 by Stefan L
Having the original Lumines soundtrack on modern consoles is a nostalgia trip for fans of the 14-year-old PSP puzzler, but the core block-dropping gameplay hasn't aged a day. It's still just as addictive now as it was back then, but it's a shame that as a remaster it ignores some of the game modes introduced in later games. As remasters go, Lumines is impeccable, but then it was always going to be.
Push Square: 8 / 10 by Graham Banas
Lumines Remastered is a loving, wonderfully polished return of one of the best rhythm games of these past years. A couple irritating technical issues and a slightly archaic song unlock system aren't enough to stand in the way of the wildly entertaining, timeless gameplay.
TrustedReviews: 4 / 5 by Stuart Andrews
A solid HD/4K update of a solid-gold classic puzzle game. Lumines Remastered doesn't transform the Lumines experience and not all the new additions work out for the best, but who cares when the core game is still so fantastic and the overall audio-visual-sensory impact is so powerful? While we'd love to see an all-new sequel with brand-new skins and tracks, it's good to see Lumines back in action.
