Mansion Lord is a hybrid species, combining elements of economic strategy and turn-based RPG. We build a hotel and then we invite the psychopathic aristocracy to it. When one of its members commits a murder, we employ detectives to expose and apprehend the perpetrator.
Mansion Lord is an economic strategy enriched with RPG elements. This is the debut production of the American studio Golgom Games.
The game is a real cocktail of genres, which combines elements of economic strategy and turn-based RPG, and all this has been seasoned with the atmosphere of criminal novels. We start the fun by building our own hotel, assembling it from a variety of blocks corresponding to specific types of rooms. Then we invite you to dinner with the local aristocracy. In the game world, noble-born are completely depraved psychopaths, whose favourite hobby is murder. When they deprive one of the guests of their lives, our task is to hire detectives who will try to discover the identity of the perpetrators. For every murderer we catch, we are lavishly rewarded, which allows for further expansion of the hotel.
Each of these aspects of gameplay offers considerable depth and an extensive set of options. The authors have prepared a wide range of rooms and decorations, on which depends what kind of guests we will encourage to visit. The murderers have been divided into many types, characterized by specific tastes and with a little effort we can adjust the interior of the hotel so that it attracts specific species of psychopaths.
The detectives were treated like heroes in RPG games and each of them was equipped with its own set of statistics and skills. Of course, there was no shortage of options to improve them for experience points accumulated during successful investigations. We can also buy them better and better equipment and gain their sympathy with valuable gifts. When the detectives discover the culprit, the game jumps into battle mode, which is played in turn-based system on grill-covered maps. The fun is enriched by expeditions to the ghouls of bloodthirsty ghouls of gloomy cellars under the hotel, the system of which is generated randomly.
