Release Date: August 26, 2014
A remastered edition of Metro: Last Light, a first-person shooter with survival horror elements, developed primarily with 8th-generation consoles in mind. The action takes place in the grim universe created by Dmitry Glukhovsky, adapted by 4A Games for the purposes of the game.
Metro: Last Light Redux is a new edition of the 2013’s Metro: Last Light. The title was initially released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The developers at 4A Games decided to issue an enhanced version for the next-gen platforms (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) and PC. The production is available for purchase as a standalone title through the digital distribution channels, or boxed - as a part of the Metro Redux bundle that also includes Metro 2033 Redux.
The story of Metro: Last Light Redux for PC, PS4 and XONE takes place in the near future. After a nuclear apocalypse, the world as we know has ceased to exists and most of the humanity died out. The only survivors were a few thousand people that hid in the tunnels of the Moscow subway. The player yet again assumes the role of Artem, the protagonist of the original game. His adventures continue after the finale of Metro 2033.
Metro: Last Light Redux is a first-person perspective shooter. Our main task is to roam through subsequent locations that are full of enemies. There are also stealth sequences available where we may silently eliminate our opponents. The size of the mentioned locations was also increased, allowing the player to be more creative and to take more than one path to his objective.
The production offers two additional game modes: Survival - that aims to provide survival horror experience (limited resources, more dangerous enemies, longer reload time), and Spartan - more action-oriented (Artem has powerful battle skills and bigger supplies). The famous Ranger Mode is still available.
Metro: Last Light Redux for PC, PS4 and XONE is powered by the latest version of 4A Engine, thanks to which its graphics are significantly better in comparison with the visuals of its predecessor (better melee attacks animations, among other things). Moreover, the game comes with all expansions released as a part of the Season Pass, as well as two options that the fans have asked for: Check Watch and Check Inventory.

Game Ratings for Metro: Last Light Redux Video Game.
Pure Nintendo: 8 / 10 by Justin Sharp
Metro: Last Light is included in the 'Metro Redux' package for the Switch. While you can certainly buy the games separately from the eShop, I think it's still good to experience the series from its roots. You'll notice the improvements that have been made and I believe your time with the game will be that much more satisfying. Just like with Metro 2033, this game features all of the DLC including a 'Ranger Mode' that offers a HUD-less, UI-less experience with more powerful enemies and even fewer resources. If you can't get enough of the Metro experience, you'll want to give the Ranger Mode a try.
PC Gamer: 80 / 100 by Jem Alexander
Still as atmospheric and impressively grim as it was last year, but inessential if you have the original.
Cheat Code Central: 3.3 / 5 by Angelo D'Argenio
So I think, when all is said and done, I still recommend this game to anyone, whether you played Last Light originally or not. It certainly rides on the coattails of 2033 Redux's release, but it's still incredibly fun. If anything, it's a testament to how much fun Last Light was to begin with.
