A 2D platformer with the cult Mickey Mouse in the lead role, a symbol of the Disney label. The title is a slightly modified conversion of the game, which was released in 1994, as Mickey Mania: The Timeless Adventures of Mickey Mouse, on 16-bit consoles.
Mickey's Wild Adventure Description
Mickey's Wild Adventure is a PS1 version of a classic 2D platformer, which was originally released in 1994 for Super Nintendo, Genesis Sega and CD Sega as Mickey Mania: The Timeless Adventures of Mickey Mouse. The title shows the adventures of the title Disney character and refers to a series of animations starring the character.
Story
The adventures of Mickey Mouse in the game refer to seven different animations in which the famous hero played. Particular levels and challenges were placed in the settings of such iconic animations as Steamboat Willie from 1928, The Mad Doctor from 1933 or The Prince and the Pauper from 1990. As part of the maps, Mickey has to face title-specific challenges and opponents.
Mechanics
Mickey's Wild Adventure is a typical 2D platform game where the hero moves left or right and faces a variety of arcade challenges. The hero can deal with opponents in two ways: by jumping on them or using a limited number of colored balls. Within each life, Miki has five health points, which means that he does not die after the first contact with his opponent, as is the case, for example, in the Mario series. Simple logic tasks and occasional boss battles add variety to the fun.
Technical aspects
Traveller's Tales' PS1 port of the game includes several additional sequences on some of the maps, a bonus level, as well as a Sony console-only segment where Mickey has to run away from a giant, heading towards the screen. Lovers of Disney's productions and old animations with the popular hero will easily notice the references and classic elements from film productions released years ago.
