Minds Beneath Us is a futuristic adventure game in which we control a human in whose head another person is sitting. The game was developed by BearBone Studio, an independent team from Taiwan.
Minds Beneath Us is a 2D science fiction / cyberpunk adventure game. It presents the story of a man who is trapped in a body that is not his own. It was developed and published by BearBone Studio and is the debut project of this developer.
The action of Minds Beneath Us takes place in a certain Asian metropolis, in times when humanity has fully synchronised with artificial intelligence. In this world the equivalent of today's Internet functions, in which the role of specific servers is played by connected human brains. The player assumes the role of a man who has an information ghost in his head - the personality of someone else, which takes control over his body.
Minds Beneath Us is a fairly classic side-scroll adventure game. The game is all about exploring locations, carefully observing the environment, solving puzzles and talking to characters - this last aspect of gameplay is very important, as dialogues shape the relationships between characters.
In Minds Beneath Us we can play only solo. The core of the game is the story campaign.
Minds Beneath Us has quite nice graphic design, which combines 2D and 3D elements (this is called 2,5D). The atmosphere and spectacular, futuristic designs of locations make the best impression here.

Minds Beneath Us offers a gripping cyberpunk story with engaging characters and addictive gameplay, and while the emphasis on reading and decision-making may not be for everyone, the game’s unique approach and detailed graphics make it worth considering for fans of visual novels and cyberpunk themes.

There are things I would have liked to have seen, but there is no doubt what the team at BearBoneStudio have produced is incredible. Minds Beneath Us should absolutely be the next game you buy. It provides a fresh and interesting story. One you will not be disappointed with. And that is why I am awarding Minds Beneath Us a Thumb Culture Platinum Award!

Minds Beneath Us offers decent value for the money as you may return to explore all the paths and options you have not explored before. In around twelve hours, you may complete the game—or longer if you are as picky as I am and prefer to explore every inch. I am definitely putting this as one of my favorite indie games of all time, and I will keep an open mind for other projects that are of genres I usually do not invest in.
