A first-person shooter kept in a retro style. Mohrta has us playing as an undead soldier who's been brought back to life. We can explore locations in any order, and they represent a mysterious land full of anomalies. Our character can use melee weapons and firearms to kill enemies.
Scumhead is an independent developer who bases his work on creating original productions with a retro style. He collaborated with an artist using the nickname Osiol to create the FPS titled Mohrta described here.
In Mohrta the action is viewed from a first-person perspective (FPP).
The adventure takes us through diverse locations that we can freely explore in any order. We meet the inhabitants of these places and help them deal with their problems by completing quests assigned by them. Over the course of various missions, we gradually learn more about the game's world.
Fighting opponents plays an important role here. We encounter dozens of types of enemies, including both regular adversaries and much more powerful bosses. We eliminate them using melee or ranged weapons. As we progress, we expand our arsenal and upgrade the weapons we already have. This allows us to adapt our equipment to our individual play style over time and prepare for increasingly greater challenges.
Mohrta transports us to a land inhabited by mysterious creatures known as The Great Strange, where reality is distorted, and supernatural phenomena are commonplace. During the game, we take on the role of a reanimated corpse wielding technology and magic, belonging to a special military unit called The Hayward, which specializes in investigating and combating anomalies appearing in this place.
Due to the fact that The Great Strange has started to grow rapidly, our task is to identify the source of this process and stop it before it's too late. Everything indicates that at the center of the whole commotion is Avlan, a missing member of the first generation of The Hayward soldiers, whom we must capture or neutralize.
The graphics of Mohrta are maintained in a retro style. The game uses the GZDoom technology, which is a port of the engine from the original Doom.
