Developed by Ubisoft Paris, the title is a three-dimensional racing game, which tries to reproduce in a near-realistic way the compatition known from Formula 1 racing. The game uses a partial license - the creators had the right to use the street track in Monaco and the names of several sponsors, advertising themselves in the season 1997 of F1 racing.

Mechanics

Monaco Grand Prix offers the opportunity to take on the role of one of twenty-two drivers and drive cars of eleven teams to compete on seventeen tracks. Despite the lack of licenses, the creators tried to reproduce as well as possible the Formula 1 competition from 1997 season. For this purpose, they created a simulation driving model, made as many as twenty-two possible camera settings available to the players and placed in the game an advanced telemetry system, measuring, among others, the time during the race. Before the start, the player can decide on the settings of their machine by choosing from several available options for each of the car's components.

Game modes

Developers have prepared several standard game modules. In the basic championship mode, players must show repetitive results by scoring in subsequent rounds. Each race is preceded by training on a given track and qualifications, during which drivers compete for the best starting positions. Players can also choose to have fun in single races or fight against time.

Technical aspects

Monaco Grand Prix is a three-dimensional racing game in which the devs tried to reproduce reality as faithfully as possible. Players will find detailed models of vehicles and tracks containing all the characteristic elements, as well as a physics engine simulating the behavior of the car.
