Strategy 21 August 2014
A sports manager game in which we lead a racing team and try to win a fictional version of Formula 1. The economic system is the basis of the game – if we want to achieve success we have to manage our budget well and maintain balance between income and expenses. During the game we can hire new drivers and technicians, research new technologies and upgrades for our race cars as well as find optimal settings for the cars and create schemes for pit-stops. During the races we can set a general tactic and make various decisions, e.g. changing tires during a heavy rain – on one hand our driver can lose precious seconds but on the other hand driving with the old tires can increases the danger of accident drastically. Realism (we don't get any bonuses or special abilities) and superb graphics work in favor of the game created by Playsport Games.

Traditionally, you can play through an entire Formula 1 season, taking part in all test sessions, eliminations, and proper races. The game features also a scenario mode and a multiplayer, letting you compete against living opponents. For the first time in the history of the series the creators adjusted the time of release to coincide with the beginning of the racing season. This enabled the game to synchronize drivers’ condition and performance in-game and in reality, using real-life data. One track was added in this installment: Baku, Azerbaijan. Among other new features, a special hub-like location deserves a notice - it's where the players can talk to the key members of their team and give them instructions. For the first time in the series, the game features testing sessions allowing the player not only to get familiar with particular tracks (to develop a strategy), but also to earn points required for car upgrades. F1 2016 utilizes an improved version of the engine that powered the previous installment.

Grand Prix Rock 'N Racing
Racing 13 May 2016
An arcade racing game from Spanish studio EnjoyUp Games with classic top-down view. Though its focuses on Formula 1 racing car competition, its driving model is anything, but realistic, and fair play rules are rather lightly treated. We are given 10 different tracks from 10 countries, and the game is divided into racing seasons. Our vehicle’s parameters play major part in achieving victory, and they can be modified through tokens earned through racing. Due to that, we can forget about taking top positions during our first season, but as we upgrade our engine power, acceleration, brakes, tires and gearbox, we can progressively take higher places and finally compete for the top spots. Grand Prix Rock’N’Racing offers rather modest visuals and a rock’n’roll soundtrack.
