A peaceful frog breeding simulator, set in a fantasy world of reality and sleep. Mudborne: Frog Management Sim features pixel art graphics and allows us to experiment with genetics to restore lost populations. We can participate in the management aspect, take part in mini-games and complete logic puzzles.

Mudborne: Frog Management Sim is a cozy frog breeding simulator set in a fantasy world. The production was handled by ellraiser, a member of the two-person indie studio TNgineers. This project reminds of their previous game, APICO, in which we were engaged in beekeeping.

Story

The croaking creature, awakened from hibernation, finds its pond deserted. Wishing to discover the cause of this state of affairs and to restore the lost populations, it embarks on a journey. The world of Mudborne: Frog Management Sim consists of dimensions of reality and dreams, and it is not unfamiliar to things like animals in hats or frog kindergartens.

Gameplay

Cultivating mushrooms, tending to spawning pools, and consuming insect creatures are some of the activities we have to perform during casual sessions in Mudborne: Frog Management Sim. The focus of the game, however, is genetic manipulation aimed at discovering species of frogs. For their breeding, we use machines and resources in a straightforward crafting system. We also have to dabble in trade.

Unlike typical strategy games, we move with one character, interacting with elements of the environment. In this way, we manage the amphibian ecosystem, also performing mini-games and taking on logical challenges. These latter are the result of exploring alternative realities, in which bizarre frogs hibernate. In discovering the peculiar world, an atlas and encyclopedia can help us.
