Road to Boruto for PS4, PC and XONE is an expansion for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, an entry in Naruto game series released in 2016. It’s not a stand-alone release, so the base game is required in order to experience the new content. Both titles were developed by CyberConnect2 – a Japanese studio, responsible for every installment of the series.
As per the title, the plot of the expansion goes beyond the manga, and the Naruto Shippuden animated series. This time, the developers decided to utilize the series’ side entries, such as full-length animated movie Boruto: Naruto the Movie, and the comic series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
Basing the expansion on these titles, CyberConnect2 was able to deliver a story which takes place after the events known from Naruto Shippuden, and allow the fans to assume control over the characters that make up a new generation of ninja warriors, with many of them being the children of well-known heroes.
Road to Boruto for PS4, PC and XONE doesn’t change the game mechanics in any way, and focuses only on delivering new content. The game introduces new characters, including Boruto (son of Naruto), and Sarada (the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura), as well as a new plotline, describing the adventures of the titular hero, and containing, among others, the duel between Sasuke and Kinshiki.
Aside from that, Road to Boruto introduces new locations to explore in Village Hidden by Tree Leaves.
