Arcade racing game, which although it uses the license of the popular NASCAR series of competitions, is definitely not focused on realism. Drivers can use the power-ups collected on the route to increase their chances of winning.
NASCAR Rumble Description
NASCAR Rumble is a game prepared by Electronic Arts under the license of the popular NASCAR racing series. The title does not try to realistically reproduce the real competition - it focuses primarily on fun and spectacular races.
Mechanics
The devs have prepared a dozen or so vehicles for the players to use. In addition to the traditional NASCAR racing cars, there are also light trucks and several unique unlockable machines such as a golf car or jet-powered car.
During races, each driver can use items picked up from the route, which improve the car's capabilities or make life difficult for competitors. Facilities such as nitro, tires with better grip, but also an attack freezing all opponents or a storm limiting their view. The devs focused on the arcade character of the game, spectacular drifts and breakneck overtaking maneuvers. The tracks themselves have little in common with authentic NASCAR series tracks, they are full of curves, bumps, and shortcuts.
Game modes
The devs have prepared a standard set of game modes. The players can take part in a single race, face a specific rivel in a 1 on 1 race or fight to beat time records. In the championship mode, a number of competitions await us on different routes. Successive tournament victories unlock legendary NASCAR drivers such as Alan Kulwicki and David Pearson.
Technical aspects
NASCAR Rumble stands out from similar games released on PS1 with visuals, including detailed car models. The composer of the soundtrack is Don Veca, who also worked on such titles as Soviet Strike, Nucklear Strike or Dead Space.
