NBA ShootOut 2000 PS1

NBA ShootOut 2000 on PS1 is the fourth installment of a series of sports games dedicated to basketball. The production was created by 989 Studios, an in-house Sony Computer Entertainment studio specializing in productions focused on various sports disciplines.

Mechanics

NBA ShootOut 2000 continues the trend of showing basketball as realistic as possible and, at the same time, making it pleasant to play. The game offers original NBA line-ups from 1998 and 1999 and the ability to play matches in arcade and simulation mode.

The game is based on the solutions developed in previous editions of the series, offering, among other things, a very good throwing mechanic. Pressing the button responsible for the action makes an indicator appear on the screen - it moves between four different colored sections. If the player succeeds in releasing the button when the indicator shows green, the shot will end with a point. Releasing the button on the yellow color makes the success depends on the statistics of the player. Red significantly reduces the chance of scoring a point, and stopping the indicator outside any of the colors makes the activity almost certainly fails.
