Oddventure is a jRPG game, primarily inspired by the original version of the Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales. It was developed by the independent Polish studio Infamous Rabbit, and its release was partially made possible thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.

Gameplay

In Oddventure we watch the action from a bird's eye view. During the game, we traverse the kingdom of Luxia and get to know the inhabitants of the visited locations. Although there are plenty of characters who are positively inclined towards us, from time to time we encounter enemies with whom we must fight.

Combat system

The fights take place in turn-based mode, and the combat system implemented in the game takes into account the mood of its participants. This means that in addition to classic duels, where we watch our character and his team from behind standing opposite the enemy, there are also encounters here that end with the enemy fleeing the battlefield. The game also allows us to spare defeated opponents, in exchange for which we can receive rewards.

Puzzles and decisions

Along the way we also have to solve puzzles that block our further path and look for useful items. The game also allows us to make choices that affect the further course of the story and its ending, as well as determining the fate of individual characters (sometimes their lives depend on our decisions). There are also secrets waiting to be discovered, such as references to pop culture and fairy tales.
