Oddworld: Hand of Odd is another game from the Oddworld series, being the first RTS embedded in this universe, as well as the first production of this family to enable online gameplay. A player can stand on the side of the Glukkons hungry for profit and try to exploit nature to the limits of its possibilities, or join friendly Mudokons and protect it from this unfortunate fate.

Created by Just Add Water studio, the production, unlike other titles of Oddworld, does not focus on the story of a single hero. This time, the story is presented from many different perspectives - figures caught in the crossfire of two fighting factions. Choosing between the Mudokon leader or the manager of the industrialized Glukkon race, the player learns history from many different points of view. This choice also affects the course of the game, as well as the path of development of the story itself.

Oddworld Game Series

A series of platform adventure games set on the titular planet, inhabited by friendly Mudokons. The series is developed by The Oddworld Inhabitants studio, with support from Digital Dialect, Saffire and Just Add Water studios. "godparents" of the Oddworld series are Lorne M. Lanning and Sherry McKenna. The first installment of the series - Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee - was released in 1997 on PC and PlayStation. The game was well received by adventure fans, as evidenced by the average reviewer rating of 85/100 (according to metacritic.com). This encouraged the developers to turn the idea into a full-fledged series. The main games in the series include: Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee (1997), Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus (1998), Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee (2001) i Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath (2005). In addition, over the course of more than 23 years, the developers also prepared a number of ports for portable consoles (e.g. Oddworld Adventures) as well as remastered versions and bundles. The most important attempt to refresh the series was Abe's Oddysee New N' Tasty released in 2014. The game was a remake of the first installment from 1997. The developers managed to maintain the characteristic atmosphere of the original, while improving the mechanics, which were already a bit clumsy at the time. The most important changes were the introduction of the option to communicate with several Mudokons at the same time and the inclusion of a previously absent quick save option. The success of the game prompted the developers to make plans for remaking the sequels. As a result, in 2020, we got Oddworld: Soulstorm for PC, PS4 and PS5, loosely based on the second installment from 1998 - Abe's Exoddus. The title presents an even darker and more terrifying view of the world and is a direct sequel to New N' Tasty, both in terms of storyline and using the gameplay mechanics that were improved in it.
