Off The Grid

Off The Grid is a battle royale shooter developed by Gunzilla Games. The project was created under the supervision of famous director Neill Blomkamp and screenwriter Richard K. Morgan, as well as Olivier Henriot, who previously worked, among others, on Far Cry and Assassin's Creed series.

Plot

Off The Grid takes us on a journey to cyberpunk universe, to be precise - to a tropical island, in the center of which there is a space elevator. The structure is connected to the mine located on the asteroid, providing its owner with access to an infinite amount of resources. Players take on the role of mercenaries at the service of three factions, which try to take control of the elevator through assassination and sabotage. How the fate of the corporate war will turn out depends on our actions.

Game mechanics

In Off The Grid we observe the action from the third person perspective (TPP). Game offers us a vast map where the bloody fight is carried out by 150 players. According to the rules of the genre, the player who is the last one to stay alive wins the game. We gain better and better equipment, which we find in the game world, create and improve using the crafting system, or receive from other players.

What makes this project different from other games of this type is the presence of story missions. Their realization influences the balance of forces on the island and the effects of their execution and decisions made by the players during them are felt on the whole island. While completing them, we must remember that "in the background" the main battle is constantly taking place, and additionally other players can at the same time carry out tasks that are contrary to ours.

Game modes

Off The Grid allows us to play in multiplayer mode only.

Off The Grid runs on Unreal Engine 5.
