Outcast 2: A New Beginning is the second installment of the action adventure game series, launched in 1999. Game was developed by the authors of the original, the Belgian team Appeal Studios. The described item is a completely new project, created on the ashes of Outcast II: The Lost Paradise, cancelled in 2002.
Plot
Outcast 2: A New Beginning takes us on a journey to the planet Adelpha, known from the first part of the series. Once again, we play as a former commando - Cutter Slade - who has been resurrected to once again try to save the inhabitants of this globe. The ancient race of Talan has fallen victim to a robotic invasion that has enslaved them and stripped Adelpha of its resources.
Mechanics
In Outcast 2: A New Beginning we observe the action from a third person perspective (TPP). The game features an open world, which consists of Talan settlements, ancient temples and a wilderness full of dangers. Exploration of this vast land is made easier by the jetpack, which allows you to get to high and hard to reach places.
Wandering through Adelpha, we complete various missions and help Talans in liberating their villages, which means fighting with enemies. On our way there are both robots and aggressive representatives of local fauna. We face them using firearms or fighting in close quarters. During battles we also use jetpack, which allows us to perform rapid evasions.
As we progress we gain more powerful equipment. We can improve the weapons we already have or adjust them to our preferences by combining many different elements. Moreover, with time we learn the ancient Talan skills, which allow us to use the forces of nature.
Technical aspects
Outcast 2: A New Beginning features high quality graphics. Soundtrack was composed by Lennie Moore, the author of music to the first part of the series.
