Outlive is a real-time strategy whose plot takes the player into the near future of the 21st century. It was then that new threats to mankind arose from the sharp decline in natural resources and the growing activity of terrorists. On 17 April 2035, the leaders of the major states and delegates of the economic powers set up the World Council, whose task was to solve the economic problems plaguing the world. In the same year, the World Council launched the Outlive program, which aimed to map the Solar System and find sources of raw materials necessary for the Earth.

Exploration of the Solar System lasted 7 years. After analyzing the collected data, scientists announced that the most abundant source of all raw materials is Titan, Saturn's moon, but its difficult conditions make it impossible for people to exploit the deposits. The Council divided into two groups. The first proposed the creation of an expedition consisting of genetically modified specimens. Dr. Joseph Taylor supervised the work to obtain such specimens, while the research was sponsored by various laboratories. The second part of the council wanted to use robots in this mission. It was decided that Mechatronics would be the main sponsor of the project and that Dr. Mary Anne Harley would supervise it.

Prototypes of robots and genetically modified individuals had to be developed within a year. At the same time, the construction of a spacecraft to take the expedition to Titan began in a well hidden and protected place. Unfortunately, earlier, fierce discussions broke out between the groups, which led to mutual accusations and misunderstandings, leading to an open conflict. Players can freely choose the side of the conflict and by controlling robots or genetically modified people effectively eliminate the opponent. The game is played in a way typical for RTSs, known for example from the StarCraft game. We build a base, extract raw materials, invent new technologies, create armed forces and fight the enemy.
