Panzer Corps 2: Frontlines - Bulge is an expansion to the turn-based strategy game Panzer Corps 2 released in 2020. The action of this DLC was set during the famous Ardennes Offensive, the last major German offensive operation on the Western Front during World War II.

The add-on was developed by the authors of the base version of the game, namely Flashback Games studio, while its release was handled by Slitherine, a company specialized in this genre.

Mechanics

The biggest novelty introduced in Panzer Corps 2: Frontlines - Bulge is the campaign, within which the offensive in the Ardennes has been divided into a series of smaller battles. It allowed the creators to present the war operations in detail, and also enabled them at certain moments to leave the players free hand in terms of which skirmishes (varied in terms of difficulty level) they decide to fight next.

The campaign begins with the attack of American troops on the Siegfried Line, a system of fortifications along the border of Germany, France and Luxembourg, which is an introduction to the game's intricacies. The German offensive itself begins only over time and escalates, making the game more and more complex. While at its early stages we have the numbers advantage, as progress is made, the situation changes. Additionally, the weather conditions, which limit the operational capabilities of the air units, are detrimental to the allied forces.

Over the course of subsequent battles, we earn rewards, including heroes and additional unique units, such as an A-20G bomber. The DLC also contains special sets of map images, commander images, and portraits of American heroes, as well as new camouflage patterns for individual units.

Game modes

Similar to the base version of the game, Panzer Corps 2: Frontlines - Bulge can be played alone or in multiplayer mode - online or locally, cooperating or competing with other players.
