Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Through the Ashes

Through the Ashes is the second story expansion for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. We follow the story of low-level characters trying to survive on the war-torn streets of Kenabres.

Plot

Expansion continues tradition of basic game and focuses on exploring the world presented and on the story. This time we stand at the head of a group of survivors and fight to ensure their safety, as they are not very effective in battle. However, as long as we stand up for them, they will support us in their ways. We have two new companions to help us, who also have their own personal goals and don't get along with each other in the best way. Along the way we will have to learn the secrets of a long forgotten demon lord and his dominion outside this world, which will be hindered by his terrible followers.

Game mechanics

The expansion offers 8 to 10 hours of playtime. As we play as a different character, we can't transfer saves from the basic game to the expansion. However, the progress made in the add-on influences the main storyline, changing some of the stages or providing us with unexpected help in completing tasks. According to the developers' announcements, the introduced stories will be continued in the next DLCs.

The gameplay itself did not change much. We start with a new character on a low level and we go to explore the city of Kenabres and its surroundings, fighting with enemies and gaining loot. NPCs protected by us are not useful during clashes, instead, we have to focus on defending them from opponents' temptations. We can use the help of companions introduced with the add-on.

Technical aspects

Through the Ashes expansion requires the base version of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous to work and does not introduce any changes to the audiovisual setting.
