PixelJunk Eden 2 is a sequel to the 2008 arcade game representing the PixelJunk series. The game was developed by independent Q-Games studio.

Plot

In PixelJunk Eden 2 we control creatures called Grimps, who wander through picturesque gardens, trying to gather Spectra, the source of life.

Mechanics

In PixelJunk Eden 2 we observe the action from the side. Each Grimp, which we control during the game (as we progress we get access to the new creatures), has individual perks which influence the course of the game. By jumping on the flowers, leaves and branches of the plants filling the colourful gardens, Grimps collect pollen that helps them grow. In this way, over time they gain access to more and more distant (and higher) areas, and thus new sources of pollen. In addition, during the game we get a variety of spices, which in various ways affect the cultivation of flowers, shrubs and trees. The whole thing is designed to give the player the opportunity to calm down and relax.

Game modes

PixelJunk Eden 2 can be played alone or with a second player in the local co-op mode.

Technical aspects

The graphics of PixelJunk Eden 2 was maintained in the surrealistic style known from the original. It is accompanied by a hypnotic soundtrack composed by a Japanese composer known as Baiyon.
