Port Royale 3: Pirates & Merchants is the third installment in the popular series of economic strategy games. Yet again, we assume a role of a young upstart whose goal is to create his very own empire. The game carries on the tradition of its predecessors and also introduces some new solutions.

The action takes place in the 17th century, in times when the monarchies of Spain, England, France and Holland fought for their influence in the region of the Caribbean. We start the adventure as a young captain who wants to make a fortune and build his own reputation. Much like in the previous installments in the series, we may choose one of the two main paths for our career. One may try their hand at dangerous escapades, piracy, conquering and pillaging cities, as well as seeking treasures, while the others might prefer peaceful ways, such as trade and developing towns. Of course, it is also possible to freely combine both options. Another important element is interacting with the sea powers. It is only up to us who will become our ally, and whom we will fight.
