SeethingSwarm is an indie developer, whose creativity was initially limited to single sprites. Nonetheless, the developer finally decided to create his own video game, the result of which is the Primal Planet described here - a metroidvania realized in the form of a platform action game with survival elements.

Gameplay

Primal Planet presents us with an alternative vision of prehistory enriched with elements of science fiction. During the game, we play as a caveman who must defend his family from dinosaurs and mysterious invaders from space.

Exploration

Watching the action from the side, we explore the wilderness. The adventure leads us through dense forests, mountain peaks, and oceanic depths. The places we visit form something like a vast labyrinth. While exploring them, we jump on platforms, avoid traps and terrain obstacles, and fight the enemies we encounter. From time to time we also have to rely on stealth.

Fighting with dinosaurs and UFOs

On our way, we encounter dinosaurs (like Apatosaurus or Carnotaurus) and aliens armed with futuristic weapons, with whom we engage in dynamic battles. The protagonist has a primitive weapon on his forearm, topped with a simple stone knife or a spear with a stone tip.

Crafting and character development

On the way, we gather resources that we can use in the crafting system. Based on this, we create new tools, weapons and baits or traps for enemies, as well as brew various protective and healing potions.
