A remake of a classic platformer with elements of an adventure action game. The title character - a changeable shape, blue drop sets out to save his friends, who are in great danger. The production was carried out by the System 3 development team on the occasion of the company's 30th anniversary.
The stretchy blue blob is all set to go digital in high resolution in the critically acclaimed Putty Squad videogame. Cited by many gaming publications as one of the best games of its time, Putty Squad follows the story of unlikely hero Putty in an old-school platform-adventuring quest to look for his kidnapped friends.
Putty Squad also has redrawn graphics with three times the graphical fidelity, which means that Putty Squad looks just as stunning on the big screen in 1080p as it does on a handheld!

Sometimes it's great to see an old classic remade and introduced to a new audience, but all these years on, Putty Squad just doesn't hold up with its less-than-perfect controls and quickly-repetitive gameplay. It isn't to say that nobody will enjoy it, though, because there are plenty of levels and challenges to tackle, and it's possible that being familiar with the original game or Super Putty on Super NES could mean this will be more appreciated by such players. For everyone else, however, it's wise to pass.

Much of Putty Squad's design decisions seemed steeped in the early '90s. Beyond actual platforming, you've got stars to collect as well as special stickers.

You should only pick up Putty Squad if you're a fan of the original, and have an unhealthy affinity towards platformers. Everyone else need not apply unless the game drops to a rightful price of $10 or less.
