Ratchet: Deadlocked HD PS3

Ratchet: Gladiator HD is a refurbished, fourth part of a well-known series of three-dimensional platformers, in which the elements characteristic of shooting played a quite important role. This time Insomniac Games studio completely focused on action-packed gameplay, which lacks typical platform jumping or solving even the simplest logical puzzles. The title was originally released on PlayStation 2, but after years it was decided to release a reissue with the graphics raised to HD resolution or the ability to unlock the Trophies. The game is sold through digital distribution.

Ratchet and Clank are in further trouble. This time they are kidnapped and forced to take part in the spectacular Dreadzone show, which participants have to kill each other. Ratchet has been marked with a special DeadLock bracelet, which will explode when the main character tries to break out of the show. That's why his main task is to find a way to deactivate DeadLock and get free. In order to do so, he has to break through successive groups of enemies, who fight fiercely like gladiators in the magnificent arenas.

Before starting the game, it is worth realizing that the creators have eliminated the remnants of platform elements from the previous parts and focused almost exclusively on shooting. The control has been modified to fit more closely into the new gameplay convention. Once again we received a powerful arsenal of weapons, which this time can be expanded to the tenth level (in previous editions only to the fifth). Upgrading the sleeves increases their strength or speed of firing bullets. You can also install special fashions introducing new effects of a given weapon. The game became more intense, which was due to shorter missions, among other things.

Compared to the prototype known from PlayStation 2, we received support for the Trophies as well as 60 frames per second and HD resolution graphics. In technical terms, there is no question of a breakthrough, although the reissue may appeal to the amendment if we take into account the fact that it is only a revamped version of 2005 production without significant improvements. Single player mode is enriched with a multiplayer, where you can play in cooperation with another person or take part in direct clashes between players.
