Reigns: Three Kingdoms

Reigns: Three Kingdoms is the sixth game in the Reigns series. This unusual strategy was developed by Nerial studio, which is overseeing the development of the series. The source of inspiration for the creators was Romance of the Three Kingdoms - a Chinese novel from the 14th century, written by Luo Guanzhong.

Plot

Reigns: Three Kingdoms takes us on a journey to China from the turbulent era of the Three Kingdoms, whose cut-off dates were marked by the fall of the Han dynasty in 220 and the conquest of the Shu kingdom by the Wei kingdom in 263. We take on the role of a ruler, and our task is to manage our dominion in such a way as to stay on the throne for as long as possible.

Game mechanics

The gameplay in Reigns: Three Kingdoms does not deviate too much from what we are accustomed to in earlier installments of the series. Thus, during the course of the game we make various decisions that affect the further fate of both the entire kingdom and the ruler himself. Giving orders, maintaining diplomatic relations with neighbors, taking care of the country's economic development, as well as ordering assassinations or arranging marriages is done here by moving cards with demands directed to us to the left or right. Like in the Tinder app, this is how we make negative or positive decisions. At the same time we have to be careful, because our choices have different, often unexpected consequences for us; if we get a wrong foot, we can even lead to the premature death of the ruler. The gameplay is varied by various mini-games.

Reigns: Three Kingdoms can be played both solo and in multiplayer mode over the Internet.
