Rune Factory 4 Special

Rune Factory 4 Special is a re-mastered edition of Rune Factory 4, an agricultural RPG with a strong emphasis on combat, unlike other members of the genre. The game was created by Marvelous Entertainment.

Plot

Before playing Rune Factory 4 Special players choose a character - a boy named Les or a girlfriend Frey. The adventure starts with falling overboard the aircraft, as a result of which they completely lose their memory. However, the local people call them a prince or a princess, so luck doesn't leave them completely. In this way, a new life begins for young people, who will have to make new friends, take care of their subjects, and experience various adventures in this fantasy world.

Mechanics

In Rune Factory 4 Special the action is shown from the top-down perspective. When traversing a vast map, players carry out tasks commissioned by the inhabitants of their estates and have to face various opponents. During real-time battles, one must avoid hostile attacks and bring out quick counter-attacks, showing agility and reflexivity. The authors provide players with a wide range of melee weapons, as well as various combat skills and spells.

However, this is not the end of the list of one's duties, because during the game, one also has to deal with the cultivation of land or the breeding of tamed monsters. In return for their achievements, players receive special points they can use for the development of their estates , which in turn attracts tourists.

It is worth noting that the hero (or heroine) is not condemned to a lonely journey. The protagonist is able to romance with selected characters, and their efforts can lead to the wedding. New to the Special version is the Newlywed Mode, where Frey or Les can travel the world in their beloved one.

Technical aspects

In addition to the above mentioned mode, Rune Factory 4 Special stands out from the original thanks to a new level of difficulty, developed with veterans in mind. In addition, all cutscenes have been prepared from scratch, and the visuals have been refreshed significantly (maintaining its manga style).
