RuneQuest is a tabletop RPG created in 1978 by Steve Perrin and Steve Henderson, as well as Warren James and Ray Turney. The action is set in the fantasy world of Glorantha, created by Greg Stafford. RuneQuest: Warlords described here is its adaptation implemented in the form of a turn-based strategy. The game was developed by the Ukrainian company Volmi Games, which was acquired by Virtuos in January 2022.

Gameplay

In RuneQuest: Warlords we view events in an isometric perspective.

Turn-based combat

The main element of the gameplay consists of turn-based battles, which take place on arenas covered with a grid of square fields. When deploying our units, we must take the terrain's topography into account. Additionally, each of our subordinates receives a so-called "control zone" extending over the nearby fields.
