RuneQuest: Warlords

Each of our actions, such as moving, attacking, or using a special ability, depletes the action points meter. However, we can secure a bonus to the latter by using advanced tactics, such as casting spells or flanking. The game also allows us to activate sentry mode, which will make a unit begin guarding a specific area.

Units

The game offers us a variety of units. Among them, we find heroes, cavalry, infantry soldiers, as well as monsters and artillery. The range of these units is determined by the faction we choose – Talastar, Chaos, and the Lunar Empire. Each has unique strengths and abilities that influence their purpose – some provide heavy support for our army, while others allow for quick attacks. Additionally, many of them come with diverse variants.

Magic and runes

Magic associated with the deities of the world of Glorantha and ancient runes also plays an important role here. As we progress, our heroes gain new magical skills and develop existing ones, and their skillful use on the battlefield can change the outcome of the battle.

Story

RuneQuest: Warlords transports us to the fantasy world of Glorantha, created for the "paper" original, specifically to the lands of Talastar and Dorastor on the continent of Genertela. The action of this game is set during the invasion of Chaos forces. We take on the role of Halgrim - a tribal champion from Talastar’s Bilings, whose task is to repel the invasion. The game features iconic characters from the RuneQuest universe, such as Ketill White Eye, Hakon the Swimmer, Ralzakark, and Wovandor.

Game modes

For the purposes of RuneQuest: Warlords a narrative campaign has been prepared, consisting of 18 missions. Additionally, there is a skirmish mode to explore and an Arena that allows participation in repeatable scenarios. Furthermore, we can take part in online multiplayer matches.
