Seaworthy is a roguelike game set in typically pirate climates. The player as captain takes control of the ship and crew and tries to achieve what every decent pirate dreams of - fame and infinite wealth. Throughout the oceans, we manage people, take part in sea battles and constantly improve our baths. Independent Mildly Competent Games studio is responsible for PC version production.

The main theme focuses on the cursed treasure and the motif of escaping from the mythological creature, which tries to stop us from reaching our destination. Although the main task is quite clear, Seaworthy offers a lot of freedom - the player can perform side tasks and swim on the oceans in any order. The decisions made during the journey and the results of battles during the journey influence the way in which we will finally complete the most important mission. Maps we move on are procedurally generated, so each subsequent game, despite the same history, seems different.

Real-time combat is an important element of the game. During clashes with other ships, the player must directly control the actions of the crew by giving them orders, such as loading guns, repairing a leaking deck, developing sails or seeking refuge. The latter is important as cannonballs fired by the enemy not only damage the hull, but also brutally end the lives of nearby pirates. In order to add a little more sea climate to the battles, the creators decided to implement a text system that constantly informs us about what is happening on board and how the subordinates react to these events.

The PC version of Seaworthy is entirely based on 16-bit graphics. Ubiquitous pixels are a conscious artistic procedure that is supposed to give the gameplay a specific character. Despite its simplicity, the painting looks very aesthetically pleasing and allows you to quickly feel the role of the sea captain. The music heard in the background clearly refers to shanties and other songs reminiscent of ocean voyages.
