First DLC for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Lara visits an ancient blacksmith's shop, exploring the mystery of Kuwaq Yaku and discovering the ancient heritage of her friend Abba. The expansion primarily introduces a new tomb.
The Forge is the first DLC to Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Just like the basic version of this production, the add-on was developed by Eidos Montreal.
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Forge Lara and her friend Abba find themselves in the secret, the ancient smithy of the fallen deities in the Kuwaq Yaku region. The task of the heroine is not only to discover the secrets this place is hiding, but also to discover the ancient heritage of her companion.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Forge enriches the game world with a previously unseen tomb. The smithy mentioned above, hidden in the heart of the jungle, is full of dangers in the form of fiery fumes and rivers of lava.
After completing the task, the heroine receives rewards in the form of grenadier skills, new outfit and the Umbrage 3-80 weapon.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Forge can be completed alone or in the company of a second player, under the cooperation mode. The add-on also introduces two additional variants of the game, namely Score Attack (where we try to get as many points as possible) and Time Attack (where we fight for the best time).
As a non-standalone expansion The Forge requires the basic version of the Shadow of the Tomb Raider to work.

L3.99 might not sound like much, but it's still overpriced for what is a really boring bit of content, with a Challenge Tomb that isn't on par with some of the ones from the main adventure. It is over far too quickly, but the Time and Score Attacks and ability to tackle it through online co-op add some reasons to re-run.

The Forge is a disappointingly brief and underwhelming add-on to an excellent game. What is there is technically good, but hard to recommend as content that Square Enix is asking you to pay for. I'd recommend holding off to see if the rest of the season pass is worthwhile or if you should pass on it entirely.

I'm a little disappointed with this first pack of DLC given that it's so short, the tomb isn't very interesting, and the two new modes are quite similar.
