The game offers an expansive story created by writer Tracy Hickman. The author is a veteran of the fantasy genre who, together with Margaret Weis, created the Dragonlance universe. The two are responsible for several books whose story takes place in that universe, including the two most popular trilogies – Chronicles and Legends. Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues for PC takes place in a magical fantasy realm which was created with many details.
