Slender: The Arrival is a survival-horror game, which is the commercial edition of a free game Slender: The Eight Pages. The game was developed by the creator of its predecessor, Mark Hadley, and the team of Blue Isle Studios.

The game is a first-person horror, in which you have to learn a dark story and escape from a danger. The gameplay mechanics mainly consists of looking for items such as manuscript pages which describe the Arrival that are scattered around an open area, and interacting with objects, like e.g. power generators. The threat you are trying to run away from is Slender Man, a bizarre creature who originated as an Internet legend in the mid-2000s.

The monster does not want anyone to discover his secrets, so he follows the player all the time, slowly closing the gap to his victim. What makes Slender: The Arrival unique is the fact that the protagonist does not have any weapons, and her equipment is limited to a simple flashlight. Worse, simply looking at the creep who is chasing her can make the heroine lose her mind. Therefore, in order to survive it is necessary to avoid contact with the monster.
