We learned the release date of the 10 Year Anniversary Update patch for Slender: The Arrival, the commercial sequel to one of the most important horror games of the past decade, released in 2013.

  1. The update will debut on October 18.
  2. The patch will give the game a thorough visual facelift. The new version will run on Unreal Engine 5.2 and, in addition to visual enhancements, is also expected to offer improved gameplay.
  3. On PC, the update will be available for free. Players will also be able to switch between the new version and the original.
  4. At the time of the update's release the price of the game on Steam will double (from $8 to $16).
  5. The update will not be released for Slender: The Arrival versions available for old generations of consoles. The upgraded edition of the game will instead debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
  6. 10 Year Anniversary Update will not be the end of the game's development and the developers have further plans, which they will reveal soon.

Recall that the series was launched in 2012 with the free-to-play game Slender: The Eight Pages. The project turned out to be a memetic phenomenon that inspired countless imitators. A year later, a commercial sequel was released in the form of Slender: The Arrival.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to the update, Blue Isle is currently working on a new horror game in the form of S: Lost Chapters. For now, we do not know when this project is expected to debut.
