An action platform game with logical puzzles. It was developed by British studio Sumo Digital. The title is based on a prototype created by Seba Liese during a Game Jam. Snake pass tells a story about the adventures of a snake and his friend, a hummingbird. Together they must find keys to the magical gates that provide magical power to the Harmony Foothills.
Snake Pass for PC, PS4 and etc. is an action puzzle platform game developed by British studio Sumo Digital, the creators of LittleBigPlanet 3, Forza Horizon 2 (Xbox 360 version) and many other games.
The title tells a story about the adventures of a snake named Noodle. Together with his friend, a hummingbird named Doodle, he must find the keys to the magical gates that provide magical power to Harmony Foothills, because the lives o the inhabitants of the realm became threatened by a mysterious intruder.
Snake Pass is a three-dimensional game in which the player controls a snake. The movement of the creature was recreated quite realistically and because of that he cannot, for example, jump. Instead of that, he slowly crawls along the ground, wraps himself around various obstacles and he swims. During the game the player must think like a snake. For example, he cannot simply pass through a narrow bridge over a cliff, but he can wrap himself around it in order to get to the other side. The same goes for many other situations where, for example, one must wrap himself around a bamboo pole or around various constructions. In addition to that, the friendly hummingbird is sometimes helpful – he can catch the protagonist’s tail and move him to inaccessible places. In addition to getting through various obstacles, Doodle must also find many well hidden collectibles. There are fifteen levels to complete in the game.
The graphics, similarly to other platform games, is vibrant and colorful. The soundtrack of Snake Pass for PC, PS4 and etc. was composed by David Wise – the creator of music for many games, including older titles like Wizards & Warriors for NES and new games like Yooka-Laylee.
The first version of the title was created during a Game Jam event organized by Sumo Digital. The prototype was created by Seba Liese, who later became invited to the studio. There, together with the rest of the crew, he created the final version of Snake Pass.
