SOL Shogunate

Over the years, feudal Japan has become the setting for a number of important video games. Chaos Manufacturing studio decided to delve into its rich history to create an original sci-fi universe based on it. It was made for the purpose of SOL Shogunate - an action RPG that marks their debut work.

Gameplay

In SOL Shogunate, events are viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP).

Locations and exploration

The game is set on the Moon, which serves as a futuristic gateway to the Solar System. The adventure takes us through various "astrofeudal" biomes on the silver globe, including metropolises that pay homage to different eras of Japanese history, mining towns located in craters, and monolithic installations.

We can explore these areas on foot, on the back of a mechanical mount, or using a monocycle. A jetpack and a nanofiber grappling hook are useful during exploration, allowing us to reach high places.

Combat and character development

Battles with enemies play a paramount role here. We face both regular adversaries and powerful bosses. The encounters are dynamic and we make use of both melee weapons (led by the katana) and combat skills. We can eliminate enemies in close combat and from a distance.
