  • Interesting Lore and Narrative: The DLC provides intriguing story elements and lore that enhance the player’s understanding of the Roots faction and its motivations.

The main cons of the game

  • Lack of Full Campaign: A significant criticism is the absence of a fully playable story campaign for the Roots faction, which many players expected. Instead, players receive "challenge" maps that do not fulfill the desire for a comprehensive narrative experience.
  • Complex Gameplay: While some appreciate the unique mechanics, others find the Roots faction difficult to manage, particularly due to their resource-hungry nature and lack of synergy with large armies.
  • Confusing Scenario Naming: The way scenarios are labeled can lead to confusion, with players missing out on story content that they were seeking.

The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users

  • Desire for More Campaign Content: Many players express a strong desire for additional campaign missions or a fully fleshed-out campaign for the Roots faction, feeling that the current offerings do not justify the cost of the DLC.
  • Improved Clarity in Content Presentation: Users suggest that clearer labeling and categorization of story content would help players find the narrative elements they are looking for.
  • Balance Adjustments: Some players feel that the gameplay balance, particularly regarding the Roots faction's mechanics, could be refined to enhance the overall experience.

Summary

  • Overall, while "Songs of Conquest - Roots" introduces a unique and visually appealing faction with interesting gameplay mechanics, the lack of a full campaign and some gameplay balance issues have left players wanting more.
