In Space Quest V: The Next Mutation we again play Roger Wilco, who after numerous adventures (previous parts of the cycle) has safely reached his native planet Xenon, where he decided to attend the StarCon Academy. His dream was to become a captain, which unfortunately was not a simple task. One day Roger wrote an important test for which he was not prepared at all. When the test was checked by the computer, a short circuit occurred and Roger passed the test at 100%, which turned out to be the best result in the history of the Academy. He was appointed captain and was given his own ship, the garbage truck.
