Space Quest VI: The Spinal Frontier is the last part of Sierra's great Space Quest series (which later ceased to be developed) and also the first to be released only on CD-ROM media. SQ6 is the most amazing, the best looking, the funniest and the most challenging position for the player from this saga.

Graphics is displayed in Super-VGA mode (resolution of 640x480 256 colors). It becomes obvious that it is more accurate and has more details. Animation has never been so fluid. The only drawback of the sixth movement is the music. The audio fixture is actually based on one type of instruments, which makes you feel a slight void in the speakers.

In the Space Quest games, the story has always played the first violin. That is the case this time too. Upon his return to StarCon, Roger is relegated from captain's rank to "second class cleaner" and sent to the SCS DeepShip 86 under the command of Commander Kielbas. He is soon kidnapped by two mercenaries: Nigel Rancid and Singent Flembukit. Stellar Santiago, who is later exposed to "brainwashing", saves him from oppression. In order to save her, Roger has to reduce himself to a microscopic size and use a syringe to get to her body.
