SpaceChem is an independent logic game by Zachtronics Industries for PC, AND and iOS. Our task is to solve a number of puzzles in order to create certain chemical compounds.
In the production, we assume the role of an engineer working for SpaceChem, a corporation of the future that is responsible for providing extraterrestrial colonies with chemical compounds required for their survival. We have to meet our superiorsí requirements and produce a given amount of desired chemicals in special reactors. Whatís more, we will also have to deal with unexpected obstacles such as physical imperfections of the hardware, which will make our task more difficult.
In total, the developers prepared 50 levels of increasingly high difficulty as well as achievements to unlock for the most persistent players. On each level, our task is to properly design two nuclear transformations in a way that transforms several basic atoms into desired materials. All of this boils down to solving a number of logic puzzles that base on automation (a field of science and technology that deals with issues concerning controlling various processes).
The soundtrack was composed by Evan LE NY who also created music for the previous game of Zachtronics Industries, The Codex of Alchemical Engineering. The graphics of SpaceChem for PC, AND and iOS is minimalistic, inspired by the cold design of contemporary chemistry laboratories.
