Spectre Divide is a shooter designed with multiplayer gameplay in mind. The game was developed by Mountaintop Studios, a team founded by developers whose credits include Apex Legends, the Call of Duty series, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Valorant. The famous streamer - Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek - was overseeing the production.
Specter Divide takes us to the near future, specifically to the city of Breakwater, where an illegal rivalry known as Santai is gaining popularity. During the game we take on the role of one of the male or female players and set off to fight for success.
In Spectre Divide the action is viewed from a first-person perspective (FPP). We start the game by creating a character and the game allows us to decide on its appearance and equipment. We have nothing left to do but to throw ourselves into the whirl of brutal competition.
The core of the game are battles fought in specially prepared arenas, in which two three-person teams compete. While the task of one team is to plant and detonate explosive charges, the goal of the other is to hinder the opponents.
Compared to other shooters of this type, the game stands out due to the Duality system, which allows us to place the so-called Spectre anywhere on the map and switch to it whenever we want. The presence of a second playable character can be used to your advantage, basing various tactics on it. Its presence also means that death on the battlefield does not mean the end of the game or the need for rebirth.
The game provides us with a wide range of firearms and gadgets. Individual murder tools were divided into so-called sponsorship sets and differentiated in terms of capabilities and purpose. The game will satisfy players interested in open fire exchanges, those who set traps and surprise enemies, as well as people wanting to eliminate enemies from long distances using sniper rifles.
Specter Divide was designed with multiplayer gameplay in mind. The game offers ranked gameplay (in which we earn ranks as a team or a single character) and the possibility of free play. Additionally, a system called Crews was implemented, in which players join teams of several dozen people and over the course of subsequent "matches" earn points, striving to ensure that their team ranks as high as possible in the seasonal results table.
The graphic design of Spectre Divide was based on science fiction comics and anime from the 1990s.
