Star Command is a strategy game in which the player assumes the role of the captain of a spaceship traveling the galaxy, discovering alien life forms, and fighting space battles. During the adventure, it is necessary to buy new equipment, expand the vessel vessel, recruit and manage the crew, and to conduct scientific research.

Star Command is an unusual strategy game in which players take command of a starship. This is the debut project of War Balloon Games.

We play as the captain of a space cruiser. The game starts with creating our ship. We choose the type and color of the hull and all the internal parts such as engines, onboard dispensary or energy shield generators. After constructing the vessel, we set off in search of suitable crew. Each member is a separate character with their own skills and characteristics. In time, our subordinates will gain new ranks, giving them access to powerful new skills such as the ability to use tactical grenades (perfect for repulsing intruder attacks) or shields that protect against lasers. It is also possible to teach the crew to treat dying comrades. Of course, the cruiser itself is not static, and there is the option of its improvement and expansion through buying new parts.

Having the ship and the crew, we set off to explore the cosmos in search of alien civilizations. Some alien races encountered are friendly and others will react to our arrival with aggression. A significant part of the gameplay are, of course, space battles. During those, it is required not only to smoothly attack enemy ships (using laser cannons and plasma torpedoes), but also to monitor the state of our own vessel and to constantly repair the damage. If the enemy rips through our shield and pierces the hull, the people from a given section of the ship will be sucked out into the space, while damage to the onboard system will affect the functioning of the entire ship. Some aliens are also able to teleport to the interior of our ship and then the crew is forced to take up the blasters and personally deal with the intruders. Researches are also very important. Thanks to them, we get access to new technologies that will be useful when exploring the cosmos. We can also capture the alien life forms and keep them on board.
