Although over the years the Star Wars universe has been very well represented in the video game industry, there could be many more games set in it. However, for various reasons, a number of projects under this banner never lived to see their debut. One of these was Star Wars: First Assault, an FPS on which LucasArts studio worked.
Star Wars: First Assault was to be a shooter in which the action would be viewed from a first-person perspective (FPP). The main stay of the gam eplay was to be multiplayer clashes waged over the Internet by two teams of eight players - Stormtroopers and Rebels.
The place of action would be the planets of Bespin and Tatooine. It was planned to be of a smaller caliber, and as a result, the maps were to be quite compact, and would be navigated only on foot; it would be difficult to find vehicles and flying machines. Another thing is that no Jedi or Sith would have made it into the game, while the arsenal given to us would have consisted only of classic weapons (no lightsabers).
Star Wars: First Assault was supposed to be a kind of market research, possibly preparing the ground for Star Wars: Battlefront III. However, the project was canceled in April 2013, following Disney's closure of LucasArts.
