Agricultural RPGs with life simulation elements form a significant branch of the video game industry, large enough to accommodate numerous productions of this type. The independent studio Seed Lab decided to take advantage of this opportunity, leading to the creation of the project Starsand Island. The development of this game was made possible partially thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.

Gameplay

In Starsand Island events are viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP). During the game we take on the role of a character who arrives on the titular island to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city, start living in harmony with nature, and make new acquaintances.

Game8: 70 / 100 by Allisandra Reyes

Starsand Island is frustrating precisely because its foundation is so promising. Its satisfying grind, interconnected progression, generous resources, and charming presentation provide the makings of a genuinely enjoyable farming RPG, but a hollow narrative, underdeveloped relationships, and an unfortunate number of bugs keep it from reaching its potential. There is enough here for dedicated farming game fans to enjoy, but at 1.0, it feels like a game that needed more time to grow into the experience it was promising to be.

Video Chums: 8.5 / 10 by Mary Billington

Starsand Island surprised me with just how deep of a life sim it is. There are still many bugs that need to be ironed out but they didn't stop me from sinking countless hours into its delightful world as it does a lot of things exceptionally well. ???
