After the release of Spore, many players and reviewers stated that Will Wright's project did not realize its potential. Over time, the independent studio Chronicle Games joined the ranks of his followers trying to "tackle" the topic of evolution in their own way. In 2019, they released a 2D platformer titled Miscreation. Their next work is the Strange Seed described here, a title bordering between action games and 3D platformers.

Gameplay

In Strange Seed we view events from a third-person perspective (TPP).

Evolution before our eyes

During the game we take on the role of a gelatinous creature. It is the titular "strange seed," which fell from an even stranger tree. Our creature stands out among other similar ones due to its ability to absorb the DNA of defeated beings and grow body parts that it "borrows" from them.
